Take our course leading to the Staatsexamen NT2 Programme II (Dutch government language test). With this diploma you can take part in a bachelor’s or master’s course where instruction is given in Dutch, and enhance your career prospects.
For everyone who wants to learn Dutch at a high level
You live and work in the Netherlands, or perhaps you’re here with your working partner. Whatever your situation, every day you encounter situations where it’s a big advantage to be able to communicate in Dutch: with neighbours and colleagues, at the gym or in meetings at work, on public transport or at the doctor or the bank. TopTaal offers intensive and effective courses on three levels, leading to the Staatsexamen NT2 programme II.
- Elementary. At the end of this course you will be able to hold a short conversation on everyday topics, write a personal message and read a short text. After the course you will have a command of CEF level* A2.
- Intermediate. When you have completed this course you will be able to take part in most conversations and clearly express your own points of view. You will be able to communicate your experiences and ambitions verbally and in writing. After the course you will have a command of CEF level B1.
- Advanced. After completing this course you will be able to understand prolonged and detailed conversations on current topics. You will be able to take part in discussions and read reports. After the course you will have reached CEF level B2.
- Exam training. Our exam training is for students who have attained level B2 and soon aim to take the Staatsexamen NT2 programme II. The course focuses on training in exam skills and practising authentic exams. There are also opportunities to address your personal language needs. (This course is only available with classes in the mornings.)
* CEF stands for the Common European Framework of Reference, a system of language skill levels established by the European Union.
The TopTaal approach
Our courses concentrate on the four main skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In addition, you will practise your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, while getting to know about Dutch culture at the same time. And of course you’ll meet other expats! Before you select a course we will assess the starting level that suits you best.

Period and costs
- Course period, morning course: 24 lessons (3 lessons of 3 hours per week). Five starting dates per year.
- Course period, evening course: 28 lessons (2 lessons of 2½ hours per week). Six starting dates per year.

- Cost per level, morning: € 730,-
- Cost per level, evening: € 710,-
- Cost of materials for elementary course: € 111,95.
- Cost of materials for intermediate and advanced courses: € 39,50.
- Cost of materials for exam training: € 25,-
